<i>Retracted</i>: Magnetic field‐enhanced water splitting enabled by bifunctional molybdenum‐doped nickel sulfide on nickel foam

Herein, we report bifunctional molybdenum-doped nickel sulfide on foam (Mo-NiSx/NF) for magnetic field-enhanced overall water splitting under alkaline conditions. Proper doping of Mo can lead to optimization the electronic structure NiSx, which accelerates dissociation H2O and adsorption OH− in hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) oxygen (OER) processes, respectively. In addition, magnetically active Mo-NiSx/NF further enhance HER OER activity an applied field due magnetoresistance effect ferromagnetic (FM) exchange-field penetration effect. As a result, requires low overpotentials 307 mV at 50 mA cm−2 (for OER) 136 10 HER) 10000 G. Furthermore, electrolytic cell constructed by Mo-NiSx/NFs as both cathode anode shows voltage 1.594 V with optimal stability over 60 h field. Simultaneous enhancement processes external through rational design electrocatalysts might be promising applications.
